Death came knocking on my door 7 times... the good lord kept the door locked.
1. My situation was so desperate that they asked my family if my status could be made DNR (Do Not Resuscitate). The answer was "NO! Full Code" (do anything to keep him alive).
2. Dr. Herzog almost does not get family approval to perform a dangerous exploratory procedure which is needed and in itself is life threatening.
3. Dr. Herzog finally finds a surgeon for me, Dr. Chikwe (She was the only Doctor that believed that I could survive the operation).
4. Dr. Chekwe's told the family that the Heart Operation had a 20% chance of success.
5. 48 to 72 hours after the operation there was a 75% fatality rate.
6. Almost lost due to heart failure while in intensive care.
7. Again, almost lost due to heart failure while in intensive care.
